Based in North Stonington, CT, the Company has enjoyed a 50 year operating history under family ownership. The Company is dedicated to serving the region’s most recognized organizations operating in technology-oriented end markets and many of A/Z’s clients rank in the Fortune 500. Given its scale and growth characteristics, A/Z has consistently ranked in the Top 400 Contractors nationwide, by Engineering News Record (ENR). Last year, A/Z generated $245 million in direct revenues and another $50 million of work put in place for owner-held contracts.
Ownership sought to identify a strategic partner with a shared view of A/Z’s continued success, while providing liquidity to existing shareholders. KPMG Corporate Finance LLC acted as the exclusive financial advisor to A/Z Corporation on its sale to Cianbro Corporation.
Key factors supporting this transaction included the Business Services team’s deep knowledge of the engineering and construction services industry, ability to leverage strong, global buyer relationships and knowledge of the financial and operational complexities unique to these businesses.
